My Fair Lady: Keira Knightley abbandonata dal suo regista

La scorsa settimana era stato annunciato che al posto di Danny Boyle ci sarebbe stato Joe Wright dietro la macchina da presa del remake di My Fair Lady. Il regista londinese avrebbe ancora una volta diretto la sua musa Keira Knightley dopo Orgoglio e pregiudizio (che le è valso una nomination agli Oscar) ed Espiazione. Adesso lo stesso Wright ha smentito l’ingaggio.
“Non lo farò – ha detto il regista al London Film Festival – Si tratta solo di bugie. Ci ho pensato per un paio di minuti e ho subito deciso di non farlo e improvvisamente ho visto che la stampa lo aveva già scritto”. Ma come mai Wright non ha accettato? “Non saprei esattamente – ha dichiarato – Ti capitano sempre tanti copioni, li leggi e poi nulla…”.
Riusciranno dunque i pirati di Hollywood a riportare in scena un classico sacro e consacrare definitivamente Keira Knightley?
